The featured artist for this edition of HLR Spotlight is Meaha Caudle-Choi. Meaha is a student in the Digital & Visual Arts program, which is part of Humber’s Faculty of Media & Creative Arts.
Meaha’s Artist Statment
I am a Toronto-based artist who enjoys telling stories through different mediums and making emotional connections with my viewers. Although painting and ink illustrations are my strong suit, you may find me dabbling in photography, textile arts and even portraits as I try to find my identity as an artist.
My diploma in Visual and Digital Arts at Humber College has been giving me the opportunity to incorporate my love for fiction, folklore and comics into my artwork. While I tend to gravitate towards abstract and whimsical mediums to portray my feelings, I also find ways to incorporate a little touch of Meaha into each of my figure paintings and still lifes.
